Purpose of the position

The asset administrator provides routine administrative support to the asset unit. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in the day to day operational administrative support. The administrator will be responsible for tagging assets and ensuring assets are recorded, reported and tracked at a National scale.

Main job tasks, duties and responsibilities

Maintain an asset register
Compile accurate and current asset reports
Tagging (bar codes) of assets
Track transfers, allocations, replacements, repairs, returns and insurance on assets
Assist transfer of assets at close out and programme launch
Ensure good document management systems are maintained
Handle general requests for information from users
Able to support asset officer in achieving their objectives
Diligence and self-driven, sense of urgency
Customer service orientated
Ability to see projects through to completion
Able to communicate effectively at all levels
Methodical and attention to detail is an imperative
Follow routine procedures efficiently
Ability to function well in a high pressure environment and meet deadlines
Education and experience

Matric / Grade 12
Experience of at least 2 years in an administrative role.
A good working knowledge of the current MS Office products, particularly Excel
Good level of IT literacy
Valid Code 08 driver’s license
