7th suspect arrested in asbestos corruption case

A seventh suspect has been arrested in connection with the R255-million Free State asbestos corruption case.

The suspect handed himself over to the Hawks in Richards Bay in KwaZulu-Natal.

The Hawks says the latest arrest rounds off the targeted suspects in the case.

The accused include senior government officials, businessmen, and five company officials.

They face over 60 charges, including corruption, fraud, and money laundering.

The suspects are expected to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
