**Please read the requirements thoroughly before applying**A position is available for a candidate attorney at a busy law firm in Sherwood, Westriding, Durban. The ideal candidate should fulfill the following requirements: – have completed an LLB or equivalent legal qualification;- wish to pursue 2 years of articles;- preferably have a license and own daily vehicle;- be willing to travel to courts across the greater Durban and surrounding regions;- be prepared to do after-hour bail applications;- be well versed in criminal and civil procedure, evidence, and delict;- be able to take instructions and carry out tasks diligently and efficiently;- be meticulous in drafting with an eye for detail;- possess excellent verbal communication skills;- be confident, professional, motivated, and committed;- conduct legal research, consultations with clients, and court attendances. Further, the candidate must have the following attributes: – be honest, punctual and have integrity;- be service orientated and time-line driven;- be willing to work in a team environment;- be a critical and out-of-the box thinker.
You will be exposed to, inter alia: criminal, civil litigation, administration of deceased estates, family law, debt collections, drafting of contracts and merit opinions.
