Anele Mdoda annoyed by fans who can’t keep their hands to themselves

When you’re a media personality or public figure, it’s normal for people to become excited when they see you in public as they not only like you but also appreciate your work.
So it’s understandable for people to either request a hug or picture from these personalities whenever they bump into them in public.
However, some public figures do not appreciate it when strangers get too familiar with them, for example, like when fans request to take a picture of a celebrity while they’re eating with their families, taking a picture without the public figure’s consent or hugging them unexpectedly.
This is unfortunately what happened to media personality – Anele Mdoda over the weekend.
Anele shared how unimpressed she was with an admirer who suddenly hugged her from the back without her consent.
Anele went on to share that the admirer was perplexed at how unhappy Anele was for what she (the admirer) had done.

The host of The Voice went on to mention to highlight the importance of boundaries and how people should always ask for permission before being affectionate with anyone in public, let alone a celebrity.
Anele reminded people to always ask for hugs from other people even if its from a child.

We agree with Anele, it’s like holding someone’s baby and then kissing the baby without the parent’s consent. It’s annoying and places the child’s health in danger especially when you’re not the healthiest of individuals.
So basically Anele’s situation is quite similar, it has nothing to do with health but just good old fashioned consent.
Do you guys realise how uncomfortable it is for someone to infiltrate your personal bubble without your consent? Not cool.
Unfortunately, Anele was then ridiculed for being rude but she still stood firm in her belief of always asking before doing.

Let’s face it guys, it’s not about being a celebrity but about basic human respect, would you like it if a stranger suddenly came up to you and gave you a hug and kiss?
