ANC stalwart Mendi Msimang laid to rest

ANC stalwart and diplomat, Mendi Msimang, is being laid to rest in Pretoria on Saturday.

He died on Monday after a long illness.

President Cyril Ramaphosa declared a special official funeral and will deliver the eulogy.

Msimang was elected ANC Treasurer General in 1997 and held that post for 10-years.

He also served as South Africa’s High Commissioner to the UK.

Msimang was married to former Health Minister Manto Tshabalala-Msimang.
