Alex residents vow to shutdown Sandton

Alexandra residents have threatened to bring Sandton to a standstill on Monday morning.

Residents agreed to embark on a second total shutdown at a community meeting at the weekend.

They claim Joburg Mayor Herman Mashaba has failed to respond to their grievances.

Residents say they are tired of lawlessness, poor service delivery and the increasing number of informal structures in the area.

They accuse authorities of doing nothing.

Mashaba is due to meet residents in a week’s time.
