Ajax Cape Town resumes life in the NFD amid court appeal

Ajax Cape Town will play their first-ever NFD game on Sunday against Jomo cosmos whilst awaiting the outcome of a court appeal filed by premier soccer league against them.

Ajax Cape Town are away to Playoffs run ups Jomo Cosmos at Vooslorus stadium, Ekurhuleni their NFD first fixture.

To avoid teething problems the urban warriors made a few substantive changes to in thier squad following the departure of former captain Musa Lebusa and beleaguered Tandai Ndoro.

Ajax signed Raymond Monada, Shu-Aib Walters, Thendo Mukumela,  Stephane Bedi and defender Sbusiso Khumalo.

Meanwhile, Jomo Cosmos made few standout signings that  include services of goalkeeper Melusi Buthelezi, Nigerian winger Victor Chibuke Ohizu and defender Sicelokuhle Hlatshwayo.

Ajax Cape Town are not building from any pre-season previous game because they were forever buried in the in legal battles hoping the last straw will bear a positive result.

On the hand, Jomo cosmos has be engulfed by scandals of not paying players for a couple of months.

That might hunt them and become some sort of a cognitive handicap ahead of this crucial opening encounter. Ange Lebahi , Riaan hanamub and Chibuike are not available for Sunday game.

Ajax Cape Town ROUTE TO RELEGATION

Ajax Cape Town finished 15th the 2017/18 season before points were docked from them for allegedly fielding Tandai Ndoro who was at the time ineligible to participate for that current season.

The court of arbitration awarded those matches were Ndoro was used to the plaintiffs which were Supersport united, platinum stars and polokwane city with a score of 3-0. Nine point were docked as a result they were left adrift at the bottom.

Ensuing platinum stars played the playoffs which they eventually lost to black Leopards. The ruling was later overturned by a different court.

To top it all, PSL has appealed the ruling that reinstated Ajax to thier 15th position.

Club supremo Ari Efstathiou  proclaimed that after few retrospection with stakeholders the club decided to slack off from the Ndoro gate.

They will wait for the outcome of the league’s appeal arguably accept the results as they are.

The NFD 2018/ 19 resumes on Saturday with four fixture set to play on Saturday and another four scheduled for Sunday.
