All these job names refer to shift work that keeps distribution depots operating around the clock, every day of the week.

Working in a team, you’re likely to do a variety of jobs in the process, such as taking delivery of goods into a warehouse for sorting, stacking and storage and then eventually picking and packing items for dispatch as they are sent on their way to our high streets, businesses and out-of-town stores.

Youll be working in overalls and, depending on the type of warehouse, may be required to work in sterile for medicines or chilled for meat areas or outside in different weather conditions.

Shift work is common and that might include early mornings, late nights or weekends.

You will also ensure orders are packaged and labelled correctly to prevent returned orders.
Organizing transfers and loading goods on to delivery vehicles.
Cleaning and maintaining the warehouse will also be part of the daily routine.
