MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or natural science
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Experience:
At least 5 years’ experience in agrochemicals or crop protection chemicals
Must have an agronomic knowledge of the crops in KZN, and experience of the crop chemical portfolios pertaining to these crops
Industry-level experience an advantage
Marketing experience an advantage
Highly computer literate with
Experience with Syspro advantageous
Functional and organisational responsibilities:
Upstream:
As part of the Company’s senior management team, assist in developing the company’s sales strategy
Develop relationships with strategic suppliers, and working relationship with key personal within those organisations
Negotiate and liaise with suppliers on product availability, pricing and payment terms for the Company
Downstream:
Generate and manage annual and monthly budgets for the Agents: by product, and by supplier
Monitors monthly sales figures for each Agent, compares with forecast and budget
Responsible for managing the company’s distribution system: relationship with the transport contractor, ensuring effective collections from suppliers and delivery of products to the 50-odd depots across KZN
Organisational responsibilities:
Responsible for 2 buyers who process orders between the Agents and suppliers
Specific Duties:
Monitor stock levels on a monthly basis to ensure working capital optimisation, and manages redundant and slow-moving stock
Study market changes and development of competitors’ prices and products, and assess their direct and indirect effect, supported by relevant analyses and reports
Responsible for the completion and submission of various Tenders, and where relevant, assists Agents with same. Interface and liaise with large key customers on a regular basis
Compile and understand crop data for the region, market share analyses
Prepare and report on the Company’s monthly sales figures with full variance analysis
Prepare a Sales Report for Board Meetings
