Clerk -Escarpment Nursery ( P12 )
Sappi Forests requires a Clerk to ensure that the administration function in the Nursery offices is effectively managed in order to ensure that the Nursery objectives are met.
This role reports to the Nursery Manager
The main responsibilities of this job are:
Data capturing of Transport contractor log sheets, Production records, KEF, PQI, Dispatches’, Fuel log sheets, e-leave.
Ensure that Sappi purchases requisitions order numbers and tax invoices are processed.
Establish and maintain an effective procurement system with associated tracking of delivery and processing of related documents.
Administer the issuing of safety work permits and capturing of safety statistics.
Compile and populate monthly reports.
Maintain salary& wages staff attendance and overtime registers, ensuring that timesheets are forwarded to payroll timeously.
Maintain update personnel files and address staff queries.
Liaise and coordinate training with HR training Department.
Ordering and issuing of PPE to employees.
Tend to front office duties to enhance Sappi’s image including general office cleanliness and appearance.
Keep control over office expenditure and stock.
Ensure that catering requirements for meetings and staff functions are effectively handled.
Ensure that petty cash and general income are administered and controlled in line with the company policy.
Distribution of internal and external courier packages/postages and ensure that adequate record is maintained for tracking purposes.
Serve as a backup for the Senior Clerk and assist with various administrative tasks and Adhoc activities
The ideal candidate should have:
Grade 12
Up to 2 years Admin, Clerical/Secretarial experience
Driver’s license will be preferable
An admin/financial qualification will be advantageous
Strong computer literacy with SAP preferable
