Job Purpose The Department of Community Safety, Western Cape Government has an exciting opportunity for suitably qualified and competent individuals to render administrative support services. The successful incumbent must possess good interpersonal relations. This post is based in Cape Town, CBD.

Minimum Requirements Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification).
Recommendation Experience in the following: Communications; Marketing or Public Relations.

Key Performance Areas Render general clerical support services; Provide personnel administration clerical support services within the component; Provide communication support services in the component; Support with newsflashes, newsletters, article scripting, and layout; Support with photography services for departmental engagements; Support with branding for departmental engagements and exhibitions.

Competencies A good understanding of the following: Clerical duties and practices; Ability to capture data; Collecting statistics; Legislative framework governing the Public Service; Working procedures in terms of the working environment; Proven computer literacy (MS Office); Conflict resolution skills; Planning and organising skills; Communication (written and verbal) skills; Monitoring; Ability to work well within a team.

Remuneration R 173 703 per annum (Salary Level 5)

Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees’ service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
