MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
Accountancy
RELATIONSHIPS AND PERSONAL ACTIVITIES:
Junior accountant function with regards to all relevant financial aspects at a head office level
MAIN JOB FUNCTIONS:
1) Assist FM with Financial reporting
1.1) Balance sheet recons
1.2) Journals in the general ledger as required
1.3) Maintenance of intercompany / group transactions
1.4) Month end reporting(cost analysis/income statement review)
1.5) Fixed assets reconciliation
2.) Debtors:
2.1) Debtors reconciliation.
2.2 Age analysis reviews
3.) Creditors:
3.1) Review creditors reconciliations
3.2) Liaise and ensure that the creditors clerks reconciles all the books within specified dates
3.3) Oversee the payment process
4.) Cashbook:
4.1) Assistance in cashbook(s) functions
4.2 .) Correct allocation of all payments to correct account
4.3 .) Correct treatment of VAT in all instances
4.4.) Daily Cashbook reconciliation
4.5.) Highlight any discrepancies on payment invoices (VAT compliance, additions, etc.)
10.) Maintenance of intercompany / group transactions
11.) Assist FM with Financial reporting
Candidate Requirements
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
1. Matric (grade 12) is essential
2. Diploma / BCOM in accounting
3. At least 3 – 5 years’ experience in an accounting field
4. TRUSTWORTHY
5. Highly administrative role – MUST be organized
6. Attention to detail is essential
7. Ability to problem solve
8. Highly motivated individual
9. MS Office knowledge is essential(Excel Advanced)
