The DA has appointed Abel Tau as the acting mayor of the City of Tshwane.
Stevens Mokgalapa, is on special leave following a furore over alleged improper conduct with his MMC Sheila Senkubuge.
The embattled Mokgalapa is also facing a motion of no confidence today.
A city council sitting got underway a short while ago but the ANC has since requested an adjournment.
That’s after the DA announced Mokgalapa will be on leave until the end of January next year.

Fans claim the SABC Crown Gospel Awards results were unfair. Fans voted for their favourite artists, but since the awards took place on Sunday night some fans had been complaining about the Artist of the Year and Song of the Year category winners.
