At least 50 people were injured in a chemical gas explosion at business premises in Industry Road, Olifantsfontein on Friday morning.
Paramedics arrived on the scene at 7am to find a number of people, evacuated from the building.
The patients, with minor and moderate injuries, were treated on the scene before they were rushed to nearby hospitals for further treatment. The circumstances surrounding the explosion are being investigated by police.
