COVID-19 – Zweli Mkhize concerned about St. Augustine’s Hospital

Health Minister Zweli Mkhize has expressed concern about St. Augustine’s Hospital in Durban. Sixty-six people have tested positive at the hospital and 48 of those are staff members.
Mkhize said the government was negotiating with hospital management “with the view to close it down”.
“We have said they must stop taking any new outpatients and inpatients,” Mkhize said.

Nursing union Denosa has also slammed the hospital for allegedly not protecting its staff.
The hospital has however denied the allegations.
South Africa has reported 13 deaths so far.
