The uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party leader Jacob Zuma will today brief the media in Sandton, north of Johannesburg. Former Economic Freedom Fighters members Floyd Shivambu and Mzwanele Manyi are expected to be present.
Meanwhile, African National Congress (ANC) acting spokesperson Zuko Godlimpi has confirmed that Zuma, the party’s former president has missed the deadline to appeal his expulsion from the ANC.
The party expelled Zuma last month after the ANC’s National Disciplinary Committee found him guilty of prejudicing the integrity of the party following his decision to join the MK Party.
The committee gave Zuma three weeks in which to appeal the decision but he has not done so.
Godlimpi says there are other avenues to appeal the decision.
