Lira in big trouble after sharing a look-alike Picture of herself & Zozibini Tunzi

Lira‘s attempt at showing some love to Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi went south and resulted in Twitter users trolling her. Ever since she won Miss Universe, Zozibini has been the talk of the town. From congratulatory messages to artists drawing up amazing art pieces of the beauty, you name it!
Lira ‘celebrated’ Zozi by posting a picture of herself alongside Zozibini with the caption: “This was sent to me.”
🤣🤣🤣🤣 I’m just partaking in Lira’s #thiswassenttomechallengel pic.twitter.com/2uPJDeFuVd

People quickly jumped at the opportunity to judge both ladies based on beauty and whether or not they even looked alike.
The bullying and trolling was so bad that tweeps laughed at the songstress, forcing her to delete the picture and set the record straight.
Okay #BlackTwitter you win. Thanks for the laughs. 😂

And let you guys harass umtanabantu!? I don’t think so. The post was sent to me to celebrate women who are brave enough to go on world stages with their natural hair. But why focus on that when we can so petty-right?
BUT You guys are funny, I’ll give you that 😂 😁 @zozitunzi 🌺— First African Barbie Role Model🌺 (@Miss_LIRA) December 12, 2019
However, some came to her defense:
Y’all really made Lira delete the tweet. Ngiyanizonda shame.
If young girls are feeling represented by Zozi’s win, why can’t the older ladies feel the same? Especially considering the time and circumstances Lira started her career.

Lira is one of the few female celebrities that has always rocked her natural hair. When the standard of beauty changed, she stayed the same. So she is allowed to be proud of the fact that her face is now reflected in that of Miss Universe. They are bare, natural and beautiful! pic.twitter.com/Jrt468O25G

Ok’salayo, Lira has always, ALWAYS been as authentic & as genuine as you perceive Zozi now. Thank you for reminding us. I’m glad she reminded us. pic.twitter.com/syICvUQL5X

#Lira didn’t try to steal Zozi’s shine. Fact is she’s been a natural hair, black girl self love advocate since forever. Can’t we celebrate their uniqueness? Ya’ll mean😡 pic.twitter.com/tSpCIpXMvF

Y’all are mean mean. I don’t see an issue with what Lira posted. She’s been a champion representing dark skin, short haired beauties for years. Y’all were posting your daughters & sisters under Zozi’s pictures, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Misery really loves company.

But the damage was done and the streets had a field day with the First African Barbie. A #ThisWasSentToMeChallenge started doing the rounds.
