Former President Jacob Zuma challenges Zondo’s refusal to recuse himself

Former president Jacob Zuma’s legal team is challenging Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo’s refusal to recuse himself from the state capture inquiry.

Zuma is basing his call on alleged bias and the fact that there are family ties between him and Zondo.

Zuma’s lawyers filed the court challenge in the High Court in Pretoria.

This on the same day they wrote to inform the Constitutional Court that Zuma would not be participating in a December 29 hearing to compel him to appear before the commission next year.
