Zondo Commission hears how millions were allegedly paid to journalists

African News Agency journalists were allegedly paid R20-million from a slush fund within the State Security Agency. That’s according to a secret witness, Ms K, who was testifying at the State Capture Inquiry.

She said the money was drawn from Project Wave, which was set up to bribe media houses to counter negative publicity against former president Jacob Zuma and the country.

Ms K is one of a group of investigators who probed criminal activities and irregularities within the State Security Agency between 2012 and 2018.
