All those who love actress Zikhona Sodlaka suffer a big blow and are devastated that she exited Mzansi Magic isiXhosa telenovela, Gqeberha: The Empire where she played Bullet.
A source from Gqeberha: The Empire revealed to Zimoja that actress Zikhona Sodlaka left due to financial disagreements with producers.
The publication adds the actress was not satisfied with the pay she was receiving. Despite numerous attempts to renegotiate her contract, she was unable to reach an agreement with the show’s producers.
It is reported that the Isixhosa-speaking actress was also helping behind the scenes and her departure frustrated producers.
The insider added: “They did not have a backup and were left confused whether to replace her or kill her character. They left her storyline hanging, no one knows what to do with her character and they can’t replace her to avoid upsetting her fans.”
Bona reports that Sodlaka confirmed her exit in an Instagram post and left social media users heartbroken.
Nomsa Philiso who is the CEO of General Entertainment at Multichoice confirmed her departure and stated that the show was taking a different direction.
