Zephany Nurse’s kidnapper denied parole

The woman convicted of kidnapping newborn Zephany Nurse has been denied parole.

Levona Solomons is currently serving a 10-year sentence for the 1997 abduction from Groote Schuur Hospital.

She named her Miche and raised her as her own.

Solomon was arrested in 2016 after Mishe’s biological sister recognized a strong resemblance and DNA tests confirmed her identity.

She appeared before the Correctional Supervision and Parole Board on Friday with both families in attendance.

The board referred Solomon for further assessments and interventions as part of her rehabilitation.

Her case will be heard again in July next year.
