Zakes Bantwini After Minister Nathi Mthethwa’s Job

The outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic has had devastating consequences in the entertainment industry. Many artists are struggling to make ends meet as they can no longer travel across the country or the world to perform. This means that they have to be “lockdown”.

The government did make an announcement when the pandemic began that artists should apply for the relief fund. Some got it while some didn’t. And it is for this reason why award-winning music, Zakes Bantwini, has sent a strong message to President Cyril Ramaphosa.

Bantwini wants to be in President Ramaphosa’s cabinet e believes that he can do better than Nathi Mthethwa, who is the Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture.

“I want to be Minister of Art & Culture. This pandemic has been extremely challenging for our industry and it’s clear we have NO leadership that cares for the creative economy of this nation. As creatives, we deserve better and I want to change that for the next generation,” said Bantwini.
