Young SA filmmaker found dead in Nigeria

Siphiwe (SJ) Myeza-Mhlambi, 25, was found dead in his room at the Blowfish Hotel on Victoria Island, in Lagos, Nigeria, his family said in a statement on Tuesday.
The film director was found dead in his hotel room on Monday.

The family spokesperson Victor Dlamini said Myeza-Mhlambi was in Lagos to shoot a commercial for Glo, and he had been in Nigeria from January 5.

Myeza-Mhlambi was the majority shareholder at Cape Town based 7Films company, which he co-owned with Lourens van Rensburg.

“The cause of death has not yet been established and the family is awaiting details of when the autopsy will be carried out and the results released,” said Dlamini.

He said the family would release details of memorial services and the funeral service once finalised.
