2022 World Cup groups revealed

The official draw for the 2022 FIFA World Cup took place at the Exhibition and Convention Center in Doha, Qatar, this evening. Here are all the confirmed groups for the global showpiece!

A number of nations booked their tickets to Qatar 2022 this week, including African sides Cameroon, Morocco, Senegal, Tunisia and Ghana.

The eight groups have now been drawn for the tournament, but only 29 of the 32 nations have been confirmed at this point, with the remaining three spots to be decided in June after the European and Intercontinental play-offs are completed.

African champions Senegal will face the Netherlands in Group A, while a lot of eyes will certainly be on Group H, in which Ghana are set to take on Uruguay in what will be a repeat of the infamous quarter-final that took place in South Africa in 2010.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal is also in the Black Stars’ group along with Korea Republic, while Lionel Messi’s Argentina were drawn in Group C with Saudi Arabia, Mexico and Robert Lewandowski’s Poland.

A titanic clash awaits in Group E with Spain set to go up against Germany, while Brazil were drawn with Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon in Group G.

The much-anticipated 2022 edition of the World Cup will kick off on Monday, 21 November, at Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, with a match between the hosts Qatar and Ecuador.

The final of the tournament will be played at the Lusail Stadium in Doha on Sunday, 18 December.
