Specification
Providing the workshop technicians with instructions and directions
Guiding and supporting the technicians about troubleshooting, repairing methods, efficiency and services quality
Responsibility for daily planning of workshop in consultation with the Service Advisor
Ensuring that customer commissioned services is carried out so that customer expectations and requirements are met
Testing vehicles before and after the work is carried out, when necessary
Providing customers with advice and instructions regarding repairs and the servicing of vehicles and, in general, aims to maintain good relations with customers
Deciding on additional work and informs the Service Advisor of this work, to contact the customer if necessary
Keeping up-to-date with technical developments, mainly concerning products, working methods and equipment in the area of operation, as well as informing the mechanics of these developments
Ensuring that laws and ordinances regarding occupational health, safety and environmental issues are adhered to
Ensuring that internal service training and information are communicated to workshop personnel
Ensuring that the workshop is kept tidy, that equipment and tools are in good condition and consumables are in stock
Performing normal (mechanical repair) duties with the necessary procedures and equipment as prescribed in the technical product binders
You are the backup counter person in absence of the Parts Store Supervisor and Service Advisor
Performing required duties to the prescribed time (standard time) as per technical product binders
Completing all necessary documentation as required by law immediately after completion of performed task
filling in and sign off job card
ensuring copy of invoice is attached to job card
ensuring copy of order is attached to job card
ensuring service sheet is attached and completed
ensuring mechanics’ work description is attached and completed
ensuring Foreman test sheet is attached and completed by Foreman
ensuring that order numbers are allocated to job cards
ensuring that relevant mechanic has clocked in job card
Filling in Service Order Request properly (Customer to sign request)
Ensuring that job cards are opened correctly by checking previous history e.g. warranty, parts warranty, R & M, cash etc
Ensuring that all stamping is done and filled in according to Triton Fleet Standard Times
Ensuring that paperwork is kept in a readable and presentable manner
follow job cards on a daily basis with their worksheet
liaise with clients on a daily basis in regards to the repairs / progress of their vehicle
quoting the customers on additional repairs
staff management
Even workloads to relevant mechanic
Keeping updated with service information and manuals – when clarifications are needed to consult the Service Manager
Assisting the relevant staff in their workload / problematic repairs, repeat work etc.
Ensuring timesheets and staff HR information is submitted timely to the Branch Supervisor
Promoting and sustain a non-racial, no aggressive work environment

Requirements
Knowledge of vehicle mechanical operations
Qualified Diesel Mechanic
5 years industry related work experience
Proven organisational skills and administrative skills
Effective time management skills and ability to meet strict deadlines
Ability to work on own initiative and under pressure
Ability to organise own workload and that of the team
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent customer service skills and ability to build and manage relationships with customers
Heavy Vehicle licence
Ability to perform overtime and weekend / holiday duties when required
General computer and IT knowledge
Ability to actively seek solutions to problems
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to adhere to clocking and hours of work procedures
Be responsible for tools and equipment allocated to you and your team
Be prepared for ad-hoc monthly tool inspections
Good planning service levels with Customers and follow up if vehicles do not come in
Ability to control and order parts when needed
Abide by DOS procedures
Ability to perform standby duties when required
