An inquest has concluded that 32-year-old marketing manager Jade Damarell, who died while skydiving the day after ending a relationship, took her own life. The tragic incident occurred on 27 April when Ms. Damarell crashed onto farmland near Fleming Field in Shotton Colliery, County Durham.
The hearing at Crook revealed that Ms. Damarell was an experienced and passionate skydiver, having completed more than 500 jumps over her lifetime. Despite her expertise, she made no attempt to deploy her main or reserve parachutes on the day of her death. Assistant coroner Dr. Leslie Hamilton concluded that, on the “balance of probabilities,” she intended to take her own life and officially recorded a verdict of suicide.
