Western Cape prepares for COVID-19 fourth wave

The Western Cape may enter its fourth wave by Friday. This is due to the rapid increase of Covid-19 cases driven by the Omicron variant. The Western Cape government is holding a virtual debate on Covid-19 and the importance of vaccinations.
Participants include Premier Alan Winde, Health MEC Nomafrench Mbombo and Chairperson of the Covid-19 Oversight Committee, Mireille Wenger.
The province recorded 1,899 new cases on Wednesday.
