Western Cape Ombudsman investigating claims against police
The Western Cape Police Ombudsman will be investigating claims that SAPS members in the province, and specifically, the Anti-Gang Unit, are abusing their powers.
The ombud has been inundated with complaints from community members about police conduct.
Police Ombud in the province Johan Brand says the complaints vary and he’s urging people to submit complaints by the end of the month via email at: [email protected] or fax to: 021 483 0660.
Brand says a report will be sent to the provincial police commissioner as well as the police minister.
