2 fishermen drown at Lambert’s Bay on West Coast

The National Sea and Rescue Institute (NSRI) said two fishermen have drowned after their fishing boat capsized at Lambert’s Bay harbour on Saturday.
Another fisherman survived the incident and was treated for trauma.
The NSRI said other fishermen searched in vain for the two men who disappeared underwater.
Their bodies were later found on the beach.
“Sadly both men were declared deceased on the scene by paramedics,” said NSRI spokesperson Craig Lambinon.
“The bodies of the two deceased men were taken into the care of Government Health Forensic Pathology Services. Police have opened an inquest docket. The survivor is expected to make a full recovery. The casualty boat washed onto rocks nearby to the incident.”
