Weekend Tutors Required: Salary R1300 – R1400 per month

Kip McGrath Education Centre Lambton is a Remedial Centre looking for Part-Time Tutors to teach any of the respective subjects starting in January 2018:English, Afrikaans, Maths, Zulu: Grade R – 12Science & Accounting from Grade 7-12.JOB DESCRIPTION: You will be required to teach a class of maximum six students in 80-minute sessions. Each child is professionally assessed and placed on a tailor-made program specifically designed to target their learning requirements.CLASS TIMES: Classes run on the following days: Fridays from 14:30-15:50 and again from 16:00-17:20.Saturdays from 08:00-09:20, 09:30-10:50, 11:00-12:20 and 12:30-13:50.(Initially, a maximum of two classes will be granted per tutor.)

TRAINING: Full comprehensive training will be provided from 3rd to 5th January prior to classes granted.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Completed Teaching Qualification, or in the final year of study.Professional qualification in / or studying towards any similar fields such as Engineering for tutoring Mathematics etc.Tutoring experience necessary.Familiar with CAPS / IEB curriculum.Must enjoy working with children. High-spirited, warm personality that can relate easily to children. Lessons must be fun and enjoyable for the students.Clear criminal record (NON-NEGOTIABLE)Own and Reliable Transport (NON-NEGOTIABLE)Available to teach every class session which you are responsible for from our Centre in Germiston.Available to complete thorough preparation of each student’s lessons in advance.

All work must be marked, scored and the next lessons prepared. Marking and preparing the following week’s lessons can take approximately 10-20 minutes per student. No student’s books are allowed to leave the centre, and all marking and preparation must be completed at the Centre.Charismatic (As you will be required to communicate with your students’ parents very often)REMUNERATION: Remuneration will be discussed during the interview process. However, you can work on approximately R1300 – R1400 per month for every full class that you teach.
