Dr Nandipha spotted wearing wedding ring, photos causes a stir
Nandipha Magudumana made her second appearance at the Bloemfontein Magistrates Court on Monday, 17 April. And for the first time since being arrested alongside partner in crime Thabo Bester, the public got to see her face.
But it wasn’t just the aesthetic doctor’s flawless skin that South Africans admired. Nandipha also sported a diamond ring on her wedding finger!
The 34-year-old medical professional appeared alongside three others accused of murder- one being her father, Cornelius Sekeleni. Two other males were former prison guard Senohe Matsoara and former prison IT technician Teboho Lipholo.
The quartet is accused of assisting Bester to escape from his Magaung Correction Centre cell last May. They are also facing charges relating to murder and defeating the ends of justice.
While Sekeleni was granted bail, the three other accused were remanded in custody until their next court appearance in May. Nandipha – dubbed the “good doctor” by Minister of Police Bheki Cele – will next appear in court on 3 May, exactly a year after Bester’s prison escape.
On social media, Dr Nandipha’s flashy ring was the talk of the Twitter streets.
Nandipha and Thabo Bester allegedly embarked on an explicit affair while he was behind bars after being convicted of rape and murder in 2012. He was serving a life sentence.
At the time, Nandipha was married to Mkhuseli Magudumana, who is also a medical doctor. The former couple share two daughters together; Ayana and Aziza.

But according to an affidavit, Nandipha claimed she was Bester’s “customary wife.” In a tweet posted last week, former friend Redi Tlhabi claims the couple divorced in 2022.
Legally, the celeb doctor could not marry Thabo Bester as he does not possess any official identity document.
According to Minister of Home Affairs Aaron Motsoaledi, Bester’s mother, Maria Mabaso never registered his birth. Bester never applied for an ID document after coming of legal age.
He said in a media briefing last week: “Thabo never registered with any home affairs at any stage. So, the only place where you could find him, as police have said, was in correctional services when he was an inmate. That’s where you’ll find his fingerprints and photo and the South African Police Service’s crime database”.
According to Redi Tlhabi, Mkhuseli is currently “shielding” his daughters with Nandipha away from the media frenzy. Just weeks ago, Nandipha and Bester skipped the country after she dropped off her children at school.
Mkhuseli – who wed Nandipha in 2013 – has yet to speak publically of their relationship status.
