WC Education Dept urges parents to apply for 2025 grade 1 and 8 spots before closing date

The Western Cape Department of Education says it’s received close to 46,000 school admission applications for the 2025 school year.
This follows the opening of the application window for grades 1 and 8 admissions last Monday.
The department has thanked the parents who’ve applied so far and has encouraged parents who have not yet applied to do so, before the admissions window closes on 12 April.
Education MEC David Maynier: “Our officials are available to assist parents having any technical queries, but the system has been operating smoothly and technical issues have been minimal.
“We remind parents who would like in-person assistance with their applications to visit one of over 120 pop-up sites that we have made available.”
