Rand Water loses 60% capacity at Zuikerbosch water treatment works
Gauteng is facing yet another water crisis.
Rand Water has lost 60 percent of its production capacity at its Zuikerbosch water treatment works.
It’s due to a veld fire this weekend that interrupted Eskom’s power supply to the plant.
Ekurhuleni, Johannesburg, Tshwane, Mogale, Rustenburg and the Westrand are affected.
It’s not clear when Eskom will be able to restore power.
Rand water is urging consumers to use water sparingly.
