Gauteng Health says video of monkeys inside hospital water tanks fake
Gauteng Health says a video on social media showing monkeys in water tankers is not at any of its facilities.
The department says it uses green JoJo tanks and not black water tankers.
It is a warning against irresponsible sharing of unverified content on social media.
It says these videos cause panic among patients and communities.
The same video was shared earlier this year insinuating it was at the Helen Joseph Hospital.
The department traced the source of the video and it was first shared in April 2022.
The initial poster was on YouTube channel V6 that placed the location in Narsingapur in India.
