Mamelodi residents breathe fire over continued water issues

Mamelodi residents are considering reporting the City of Tshwane to the Human Rights Commission for not prioritizing the community’s water crisis.

Some areas haven’t had water for two weeks.

This has led to a surge in illegal water pipe connections.

Mayor Cilliers Brink says residents shouldn’t panic because there are measures in place to solve the problem.

The City says plans to improve water supply – estimated at a cost of R80-million – are on the cards.

But until this happens, residents will have to rely on notoriously unreliable water trucks.
