Tshwane avails funds to upgrade water infrastructure

The Tshwane budget speech was disrupted on Wednesday, with EFF members walking out.

They were unhappy that details of the budget that was disseminated before it could be presented in council.

The budget speech continued with Finance MMC Peter Sutton saying a record sum has been directed towards the upgrade of the Roooiwal wastewater treatment plant and dealing with other water supply issues plaguing the city.

The cholera outbreak has forced the City of Tshwane to tackle its age-old water supply issues head-on.
