Water and Sanitation department lays charges against former board CEO’s

The Human Settlements, Water and Sanitation Department has laid criminal charges against former CEOs of the Lepelle and Amatola Water Boards.

The suspended CEO of Amatola Water in the Eastern Cape, Vuyo Zitumane, is one of the accused. Zitumane allegedly awarded tenders at inflated prices.

This is according to a report compiled by Open Water Advanced Risk Solutions. The company was appointed by the Water and Sanitation Minister, Lindiwe Sisulu.

The other accused is Lepelle Northern Water CEO, Phineas Legodi. He is implicated in fraud, corruption, and bribery in connection with a 40-million rand debt collecting tender.
