Warehouse Controller needed immediately: Salary R10 000 to R12 000 per month

Our client, a successful national retail chain based in Cape Town is looking for a Warehouse Controller to join their team in the Northern Suburbs (Willowbridge, Tygervalley).
There is a strong likelihood that a separate Cape Town warehouse will be established within the next 12 to 24 months and this position could potentially be elevated to Warehouse Manager.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
· Stock Receiving/ Stock Room
o Strictly follow the documented goods receiving procedure, including supervision of staff assigned to assist with offloading container deliveries, check stock received quantities and price stock.
o Receive stock, record in GRV book, count stock received, compare to supplier invoice and purchase order, deal with discrepancies, price stock.
o Ensure the stock is stored in an orderly way and that the stock room is kept clean and tidy.
· Customer Care
o May be required to assist customers from time to time.
o Proactively interact with customers, greet and offer to assist.
o Maintain a knowledge of all merchandise in the store in order to be able to assist customers.
o Be aware of all promotions/discounts and actively promote to customers wherever possible.
o Use the customer request book, where required.
· Merchandising and Housekeeping
o May be required to assist with merchandising from time to time.
o Display/replenish merchandise in accordance with company merchandising principles.
o Assist in keeping store clean and tidy.
· Security and Maintenance
o This role is responsible for stock held in the storeroom (ie: stock received via “back door” and stock moving out to the front of the store).
o Minimise potential stock loss by maintaining a high level of alertness.
o Action stock counts accurately when requested.
o Report all safety hazards and risk factors to store management.
REQUIREMENTS
· Previous retail experience in a similar position and with similar duties.
· Have excellent numeric abilities and can operate accurately and efficiently.
· A strong attendance, reliability and punctuality record.
· Strong customer service principles.
· Be computer literate, previous IQ Retail experience would be advantageous.
· Be able to work as part of a team.
REPORTING TO:
Store Manager, working closely with Admin Controller on receiving procedure/paperwork
WORKING HOURS: Store operating hours, 5 days a week
SALARY: R10 000 – R12 000
Quarterly bonuses (dependent on store performance)
