Process Technician
My client is seeking a Process Technician to join their team based in Port Elizabet
Duties:
Pre-production:
Liaise with marketing / drawing office regarding new processes of new parts for tenders
Attend pre-production meeting, compile list of points that need special attention
Compile lists of jigs, templates and equipment that is needed for new jobs, ensure they are available in time
Fabricate and assemble templates / fixture
Work Instructions:
Maintain current work instructions
Update works instructions to include new methods, improvements of where special attention is required
Liaise with production / training departments regarding implementation of new instructions
Equipment:·
Maintain a list of all equipment in production areas including jogs, templates and production aids
Motivate for purchase of new equipment, evaluate between alternative supplier’s equipment
Sign off acceptance of new equipment once it has been suitably commissioned
Compile and submit reports for the initial motivation / justification as well as the verification of actual versus proposed savings
Manufacturing capability
Automation of various processes / machines to eliminate / reduce operator error·
Ensure new/existing equipment meets the required specification
Prove work methods, update works instructions if required
Liaise with training/production for training, hand over process to production
Compile and submit reports for the initial motivation/justification as well as the verification of actual versus proposed savings
Investigations:
Evaluate process problems, make recommendations on solving
Candidate Requirements
Requirements:
Must be a qualified Mechanical Engineer (Btech Degree)
5-10 years’ experience in manufacturing concern
Familiar with Fabrication and Processes in manufacturing environment Be proficient in Inventor
Must be physically fit for this role (working at heights)
This position reports to: Process Manager
