The state is opposing bail for the eight VIP protection members filmed assaulting a motorist on a Johannesburg freeway.
They are appearing at the Randburg Magistrate’s Court after the viral video showed them kicking and slapping the motorist.
Their lawyer is arguing that they should be granted bail.
The court has also heard that the person who took the video received a threatening sms from an unknown number.
All eight accused remain suspended from the VIP unit.
