Bail ruling expected in VIP protection unit highway assault case

The accused in the “blue light” highway assault case will hear if they will be granted bail on Thursday morning.

Deputy President Paul Mashatile’s protectors are accused of beating up three civilians on the N1.

They face charges of assault GBH, pointing of a firearm, and malicious damage to property.

The VIP protection unit members were caught on camera.

It’s now been alleged a threatening message was sent to a state witness.

The message said they had made enemies by supplying the video to the media.
