Magistrate to rule if VIP blue light video will be admitted as evidence

Eight VIP protection unit members accused of assaulting civilians are back in court on Tuesday.

Magistrate Abdul Khan will rule if a video showing them on the Joburg highway will be admitted as evidence.

The eight members of Deputy President Paul Mashatile’s security detail were caught on camera.

But, the defence is questioning the authenticity of the footage.
