14 arrested in Letsopa township amid violent protests

At least 14 people have been arrested in Letsopa Township near Ottosdal in the North West following violent protests.
Residents went on the rampage, protesting a lack of service delivery.
Police spokesperson Sam Tselanyane says they’re monitoring the situation.
“Since the violent protest erupted yesterday, we have arrested nine suspects who made a brief appearance today and were remanded in custody until their next appearance. Today we arrested five people. e are still trying to get the situation under control at the moment.”
They torched a community library, a municipal office, and trucks.
The suspects are facing charges of public violence.
