Kim Kardashian sued for allegedly copying Vibes logo for new fragrance

Kim Kardashian is being sued for allegedly copying a mobile business called Vibes’ logo for her new fragrance.

According to The Blast, in court documents they received, Vibes Media claims KKW swiped their logo, which they claim was trademarked in 2012. The company alleges that Kim has been marketing, promoting, and is now selling a Vibes perfume that is bottled in a close duplicate of the registered Vibes Media logo.

Vibes Media is seeking damages, an injunction to prevent the mogul from selling any more products as well as all the unsold perfumes so they can be destroyed reports TMZ.

Sources close to the TV personality told The Blast that “the business mogul’s team believes the lawsuit against her beauty company is “ridiculous,” and thinks Vibes Media is merely looking for “attention” by filing a legal complaint instead of sending a private letter to discuss the situation.

This is not Kim’s first lawsuit over a product. In August 2017, the mother-of-three was sued for $100m for the endorsement of her LuMee smartphone case, which lights up making it ideal for taking selfies.

According to BBC, a man called Hooshmand Harooni claimed that the idea of integrated lighting accessory and case for a mobile phone device was licensed in 2013 to a company called Snaplight.

A representative for the Kardashians told BBC: “The patent lawsuit filed by Snaplight has no merit and is just another attempted shakedown. Kim has done absolutely nothing wrong.”
