Veterinary Receptionist wanted immediately: Salary R7 700 to R8 600 per month

Well-Established veterinary practice is looking for a friendly, energetic and organised receptionist to join their team.

Location: Northern Suburbs, Cape Town
Salary Range: R 7 700 to R 8 600 depending on experience.
Working Hours: Mondays to Fridays (alternate shifts 7:00 – 1pm or 1pm – 7pm, every 3rd Saturday 8- 5pm)
Estimated start date: 1 September 2019

Key duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

Managing switchboard and answering incoming calls
Assisting clients in a helpful and professional manner
Taking messages accurately and that contain all relevant information
Coordinating and scheduling appointments and procedures
Liaison between client and veterinarian
Maintaining up to date and accurate recordkeeping system including medical records and databases.
Process over the counter sales and financial transactions
Maintain clean and organised reception area

Requirements

At least 1-year experience as receptionist in busy medical or veterinary environment
Fluent in English and Afrikaans
Preferably up-to-date knowledge on all veterinary products
High level computer proficiency and able to quickly learn new systems
Works with thoroughness completes tasks in full and adheres to protocols.
Must be able to work in a high-pressure environment
Multitasking and teamwork are essential
Excellent communication, listening and interpersonal skills to ensure messages are correctly taken and relayed to the relevant person.
High level of resilience
Work patiently with possibly concerned or anxious clients
Committed towards service excellent
Solid organisational and prioritisation skills
Attentive to client, pet and doctors’ needs (anticipate their needs).
