South Africa records 5 885 new COVID-19 cases and 281 deaths

The National Institute for Communicable Diseases says COVID-19 infections appear to be showing signs of a sustained downward trend.
A total of 5,885 new coronavirus cases were identified in the past 24 hours.
A further 281 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported.
The majority of new cases on Friday came from KwaZulu-Natal at 1,341.
The Western Cape was not far behind with 1,282 infections and 960 new infections were recorded in the Eastern Cape.
Close to 57,000 tests were conducted with a 10,3 positivity rate.
The NICD says that the seven-day moving average of cases has decreased.
