Sappi Saiccor Mill requires a Utility Driver to maintain housekeeping and to move equipment with the aid of a Payloader, Manitou Telehandler, and or Bob Cat utility vehicles in order to maintain clean and safe conditions in the plant
This role reports to the Workshop Foreman.
The main responsibilities of this job are:
Clean all Woodyard areas and assist with clearing of chip spillages using the provided cleaning vehicles.
Assist cleaning contractors with cleaning up of sawdust spillages using the provided cleaning vehicles
Place waste in appropriate collection areas using the provided cleaning vehicles.
Report any unsafe or potentially hazardous conditions to the Plant Superintendent, Knife Grinding Foreman.
Assists mill wide with cleaning up of pulp or debris spillages when requested.
Visually inspect machines overall condition daily i.e. oil levels, hydraulic oil levels, fuel, battery water etc.
Report any abnormalities or faults to the Supervisor.
Collect spares and other consumables from stores as per plant requirements
The ideal candidate should have:
NQF Level 4 (Grade 12/N3)
At least 1-2 years of relevant work experience within a similar environment
In compliance with the Department of Employment and Labour’s directive of 11 June 2021, Sappi’s risk assessment has identified this role as requiring mandatory Covid-19 vaccination, as an inherent requirement of the job.
