Stage 5 load shedding to continue until the weekend
Stage 5 blackouts will continue until the weekend.
Eskom says rolling blackouts will be on the Stage 5 schedule until 5 on Saturday morning.
On Tuesday, the embattled power utility said it hoped to reduce power cuts by one stage today.
It said generating units at four power stations were taken offline for repairs.
Adding that it was necessary to continue Stage 5 in order to limit the use of emergency reserves.
The utility is expected to publish a full statement on Friday for the remainder of the weekend and next week.
Loadshedding will continue being implemented at Stage 5 until 05:00 on Saturday morning. Eskom will publish a full statement on Friday afternoon with regards to the rest of the weekend and for next week.
