22-year-old University student heavily beaten up by h0rny traffic police officer after denying him s.e.x

Yanelisa Stuurman is looking for justice after she was allegedly assaulted by an East London traffic cop and his girlfriend on 21 May.

The Walter Sisulu University student (22) from Zwelitsha zone 4 in Qonce alleged a quarrel started when the cop touched her thighs and demanded s.e.x from her.

She told the publication she had gone out for drinks with her cousin, the traffic cop, and his girlfriend.

“When we went home, my cousin and his girlfriend were asleep. He stopped at the garage and I went inside looking for a pie. When I came back, I found him smoking outside his car. He started to fondle my bre@sts and I told him to stop.

When we got into the car, he touched my th!ghs. I told him to stop, but he persisted,” she said.

Yanelisa who gave the publication permission to use her name and picture, said the traffic cop then got angry. “He became aggressive and demanded s.e.x. I refused and he punched and kicked me. He also tore my hoodie. He called his girlfriend to help him and accused me of attacking him.

“His girlfriend never asked questions. She just assaulted me.”

She said the two even tried to bribe her and her family. “I felt humiliated and cheap.” Her aunt Zikhona (34) said no amount of money could heal her niece’s wounds. “He came back with his father, sister, and brother after he tried to bribe my niece. They asked us to beg our niece not to press charges and we could name our price.”

Police spokesman Brigadier Tembinkosi Kinana said a case of assault was opened at Nyibiba Police Station on 22 May. “Two suspects, aged 25 and 29, appeared in court on 27 May and will appear again soon,” said Kinana.
