Cost of Parliament damage still under wraps

The cost of damage to Parliament’s buildings following a New Year’s fire remains unknown.

Parliament’s oversight committee was expecting to get a final report on Friday on what the restoration might cost.

But consultants say they will only be concluding their assessment document by the end of the day.

Public Works Minister Patricia de Lille has promised that the document will be ready before the sole arson suspect, Zandile Mafe, is due back in court.
